Dunn, Ross E.  The Adventures of Ibn Battuta: A Muslim Traveler of the 14th Century.  Los Angeles: University of California Press.  1989.

This book describes the route Ibn Battuta took through Constantinople and describes his reactions to what he sees.  Used primarily in the Rihla.

Provides an elaborate description of the Haghia Sophia, including quotes from prominent historians of the time that saw the building before it was converted into a mosque.
